Born in Brooklyn, New York and later moving to Lavallette, New Jersey, Cody Nierstedt has been playing guitar since the age of 11.
Cody spent his early years learning 80's hair metal, classic rock, and metal. He spent his teen years playing in various metal, and post hardcore bands before deciding to go to college for music. Upon graduating high school, he went back to New York to study music performance at Adelphi University. There he studied classical guitar and majored in jazz guitar. Cody earned his Bachelors degree in Music Performance in 2016 and still continues to study and learn all the he can about music.
Stone Temple Pilots was one of the first bands to shape Cody's taste in music growing up, so receiving an offer to play their material live was one he couldn't pass up.
He currently works at Russo Music in Asbury Park, plays in a progressive trio, writes his own music, and teaches guitar privately.
